Motors are the focus of the motion control system. The MAX controller supports a number of motor types:

DOT Brushless DC/AC Servo Motors
DOT Brushed DC
DOT Linear Motors
DOT Stepper Motors

For each axis, it is necessary to specify the motor type and some basic motor setting parameters. DPWin
uses this information when selecting commutation schemes, choosing values for the current compensator,
tuning and so on. It is highly recommended that accurate information be entered.
Detailed information on the MOTOR VERIFICATION TOOL and each of the supported motor types, their
setup and tuning can be found in the DPWIN documentation.
Further information is also available on Commutation, Encoders and Hall Sensors. Every supported type of
motor has a wiring diagram and a connector pin-out that shows how to connect motor phases.
